Extended Day Program

OUR THEORY: A Belief in Our Students; Providing Multiple Opportunities for Success

We believe our students will succeed when given multiple opportunities to be successful. We recognize that they must be academically and socially successful today, as middle school learners, and tomorrow, as they move on to colleges, universities, and careers. Our program seeks to develop thoughtful, responsible, and engaged citizens, both in school and beyond.

This program is designed to provide opportunities for students to get extra help, to make up work, and to foster their overall academic success. In addition, this program can be used to provide enrichment or to extend lessons.

3:15 - 5:15 Monday through Thursday

In the future, we plan to expand and enrich this program using feedback from students, parents, teachers/staff, and other community members!

You may contact Ms. Darien Lewis or Mr. Lawrence Salazar, HMS Extended Day Coordinators, at (518) 475-6501 or (518) 475-6475.

Questions we have received about the program:

Q: Is this a district-wide program?

A: This particular program is available only at Hackett Middle School at this time. However, there are many after-school opportunities at schools throughout the district! Please check with your child's school regarding those opportunities!

Q: How do I enroll my child in the program?

A: The program is open to every Hackett student. Students must return a completed HMS Extended Day Program 2016-2017 Application (Revised 10/19) signed by a parent/guardian in order to participate.

Q: Is transportation provided?

A: Yes! A "yellow bus" is available for each student and will drop your child off at the corner closest to your home.
